Sites like Vinted in Ireland: where to sell (or swap) your clothes

Most of us have a wardrobe with a few too many "I'll wear it one day" pieces. Vinted has made it easy to turn those into cash, and a lot of people in Ireland use it. It's not the only way to clear out, though. Depending on what you've got, how fast you want it gone and whether you'd rather swap than sell, another option might suit you better.

Here's a plain comparison of the main places to sell second-hand clothes in Ireland, with sources for every fee. One of them is us, SellOrSwap.ie, so we've stuck to what each site says about itself.

Vinted

Vinted is built around fashion: clothes, shoes and accessories, with more categories added over time.

Vinted is a great fit if you're happy to post things and want a big audience of people shopping specifically for fashion.

Depop

Depop is a fashion resale app popular with younger shoppers. On fees, Depop's own pages don't fully agree. Its Irish sell page says "zero selling fees… payment processing fees and boosting fees still apply" (depop.com/ie/sell). Its Help Centre fee table lists a 10% selling fee for sellers outside the UK, US and Australia (Depop Help). Check the fee shown to you when you list.

Adverts.ie and Facebook Marketplace

Both are general local marketplaces, and clothes are one category among many. Adverts.ie is free for most private sellers (Adverts.ie help). Facebook Marketplace is free to list locally, and our research found no checkout or shipping option in Ireland (12 Oct 2026 research citing Facebook Help; not re-checked on 17 Oct). They're good for bundles, kids' clothes and bigger lots that suit collection, and you'll usually agree payment in person.

SellOrSwap.ie

SellOrSwap.ie is an Irish marketplace for everything, fashion included, where every ad can be for sale, for swap or both.

Tips for selling clothes online in Ireland

  1. Photograph in daylight, on a plain background, front, back, label and any marks.
  2. Say the size two ways (UK and EU) and give measurements for jackets and jeans.
  3. Be upfront about wear. Bobbling, a small mark or a missing button: say it, and show it.
  4. Price to sell. Look at what similar items have actually sold for, not just what's listed.
  5. Bundle kids' clothes by age. Parents love a bag of "age 3–4" sorted in one go.
  6. Try a swap. If cash offers are slow, switching on swaps opens up a whole new set of buyers.
